Can you hypnotize someone just by talking to them?
Sure you can.
Milton Erickson, one of the founders of modern hypnosis, did so all the time.
In fact, most of his subjects didn't even know they were being hypnotized.
It's easy to get people to drop into trance. Now, of course it's less easy if you don't know what you're doing. But even then, it's not impossible.
People "drift off" when you're talking to them. They sometimes go into a world of their own. When they do this, they're in a state of trance. Whether you intended them to be or not.
Studying hypnotic techniques and commands will get you closer to the goal of being able to put anyone you talk to into a hypnotic state whenever you want them to drop into trance.
Embedded commands are an exceptionally good way of doing this.
So are images.
For instance, I might ask you to think of a time when you were exceptionally happy.
That, of course, is a fairly standard NLP technique.
So how do you change it round and drop it into a conversation?
Easy.
"Remember when you were playing beach volleyball?"
A phrase like that will take the person you're talking to right back. Immediately. They'll begin forming a picture in their mind and you can embelish that picture in your conversation.
OK, that may be an odd kind of image to bring up in a business meeting. So you might get the person you're talking with to think back to a time when they went along with the bosses suggestion.
Or even just by suggesting things:
"I know you aren't a yes man. You wouldn't simply go along with your bosses suggestion just because they said they wanted it."
Quite simply, you're telling them to be a "yes man" and to "go along with their bosses suggestion"...
Now that starts to get powerful, doesn't it.
