If your blog is more specialist and typically only deals with one or two subjects, then it's worth looking into the more specialist affiliate programs to get money from your blog. Start with places like Commission Junction and Clickbank and search around.

Another interesting way to monetize your blog is by displaying eBay adverts. Sign up to Commission Junction and then join the eBay offering. You'll get paid a commission every time someone buys an item through one of your links. And there's the added advantage that you'll be offering your blog's visitors a bargain as well!
